I know, I know. Blogging while on holidays is lame. Except that holidays are for doing things you enjoy. And I happen to enjoy the occasional blog entry. So, here you go, whether you like it or not.
We are having the grandest of times. Here are a few thoughts and highlights:
Today we roused at 5:30 in the morning to board a catamaran for a sunrise snorkeling tour. We saw a family of humpback whales on the ride back to shore. I like mahi mahi. I bought a navy blue polka dot bikini for Avelyn. Sunscreen is a good idea. My stomach is getting bigger every morning (too much mahi mahi, perhaps?). Ross Dress For Less is the best store in the whole wide world. I saw a sea turtle swimming underwater. I miss Avelyn, but not unbearably so (does that make me a terrible mother?). I called home today and my dad was alone with Avelyn. After a couple minutes of conversation he requested I call back in an hour once my mom was back since Avelyn’s poopy diaper was leaking through her tights and she had just ripped his newspaper in half. See, that’s what I don’t miss.
We went to a luau the other night and this is what happened:

Ha, I love the sunglasses stumble. That always happens to me when I hula (which is often – not).

Ooh, my two girlfriends and I hula’d on stage during a luau when we stayed on Oahu for a few days right out of high school. I had forgotten! I love that you are loving it. I still miss the smell of everything in Hawaii. Everything smells AMAZING.
