My Girl

Twenty

Avelyn is still sleeping.  It’s past nine a.m.  I feel like I’m in the twilight zone.  She is usually up for the day around seven in the morning, if not a tad earlier, so I have just been walking around the house, not entirely sure what to do with myself.  AND IT’S AWESOME.

She turned 20 months old yesterday.  That’s getting awfully close to two years old and I have no idea what has happened to make the time fly by so fast since her first birthday.  She has grown and changed so much and I can’t believe it.  She only has a hint of a chubby thigh roll left on her legs, she has a stubborn will that rivals my own, and she has been talking up a storm.

I was trying to think of all the words she can say and I lost count.  The following list will be dull for everyone except me.  I am terrible at writing in her baby book but I wanted to record some of her vocabulary so I won’t forget all the cute little words she can say:

Meek (milk), baw-ull (bottle), puppy, horsey, kitty, hi, bye, see ya, no touch (she hears that a lot each day), hot, cold, bath, purse, Lolo, Sizzles, Rolo, Riley, Daddy, Steve, Bumpa, Gamma,  Nana, nose, ears, eyes, button, bum, toes, baby, go, no, yes, cup, juice, sit, cookie, berry, boat, bath, awesome, super, George (as in, Curious), sheep, duckie, quack, pig, night night, Livia (Olivia), ‘Nay (Danai), Tee-Tee (Christy), bunny, egg, cheese, music, dip dip (that means ketchup), vulva (we’re all about being anatomically correct), shoes, coat, soot (soup), hair, brush, turkey, ham, orange, teebee (TV), Nemo, movie, show, bubbles, swing, and that’s all I can think of for now.

Thanks for humouring me.

  • I’ll have you know, I quite enjoyed that list of words. I can only imagine how cute is is when Avelyn is talking! Beautiful picture of the two of you!

  • You both look amazing in this photo. Blow it up and frame it!
Also, I’m totally envious of whatever lip color you are wearing… care to share what it is? Or is it just happy pregnancy hormones?

  • Nice picture! You’re teeth look much whiter and your lipstick color is amazing! Can’t she say apple too?

  • I love the list, thanks for sharing! Amy is 20 months and 2 weeks and actually freaks me out with the talking sometimes. She cracked me up tonight when she came running into the bedroom shouting “sewah, sewah” after my husband had called me from the kitchen! I had to sit her down and explain that although my name is Sarah, she calls me Mummy!

  • Cute picture. You look so fresh!
I can’t wait for my niece to start talking/walking. So much fun.

  • what a cutie pie.

  • dip dip….wherever did she get that from?
She is sooo funny. So so sooooo funny. Truly the queen of drama. Hopefully Olivia starts talking before she goes to kindergarten….

  • beautiful picture of you two..

  • I’ve been reading since you were pregnant, as I was due at more or less the same time. My daughter just turned 20 months old as well, and it’s such a fascinating age, if not a bit sad that they are growing so quickly. Such a cliche, that parental notion, but oh so true.

    Gorgeous photo!
