My Girl

Feast

In the first three months of Jolie’s life Steve and I have gone on one whopping date night.  Dinner and a movie, even, so we get points for creativity, right?  However, in this week we have sitters lined up for three nights in a row!  Our social lives are either in a state of feast or famine and this week we’ll be eating better (figuratively speaking, of course, since I’m sticking strong to my cruel lover, Weight Watchers, in the face of this trying holiday season) than we have in a long time.

Tonight we are going for dinner with some great friends and then out to see Jann Arden, live in concert.  I have always loved her music and will be the nerd in the front row, swaying back and forth, mouthing all the words to “Insensitive”.

Then on Friday we’re going to a holiday soiree for which we’ve been told to dress up!  I love dressing up!  I’ve got a dress all ready to go and will post photos of Steve and I, in our dolled-up glory, this weekend.

The parties just keep on coming, all weekend long, and I love it.  It’s so fun to have holiday plans and a reason to wear a pretty dress.

In other news, Avelyn peeled off the “a” key on my laptop keyboard and Steve kind of fixed it, but now I have to totally pound the key on a strange and difficult angle to get it to perform properly.  This would be fine for the “z” key or something, but leave it to Avelyn to choose the second most common vowel as her target for destruction.  She has also taken to eating 4-5 mandarin oranges a day.  Needless to say, the diaper changes are becoming increasingly disturbing.  We are 1 for 12 in the potty training adventures, meaning she has both pooped and peed once in potty and about a dozen times in less desirable loctions.  Tiny (and smelly) victories.

And here’s a bath-time picture.  Just for fun.
