Little O' This

Calling All Lurkers!

So here in blogland this week is officially deemed National Delurking Week, a time for people who peruse blogs, but never comment, to make themselves known.  Last year I delurked on one of my favourite blogs and it was such a great experience because I got to connect with the author (hi, Leah!) and I think she’s just swell.  She even sent my baby a present

So come on, all you lurkers!  Please say hello.  Good things could happen.

  • Hey Amanda,
I guess it’s time to reveal myself. I have been lurking on your site for a few months now. I found it through April’s site. I’ve realized we have a connection with our childhood obsession of Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Anyways, I thought since you’re asking for us to de-lurk that I would actually do it, so here I am. It’s good to see that you and Steve are doing well and Avelyn is so cute!

  • I just de-lurked over on Whoorl and talked about someone stealing my crayolas in 3rd grade – how bizarre is that? I don’t even remember how I found ya’ll’s blogs, I feel like I know ya’ll.
    Anyway, thanks!

  • Hi Amanda,

De-lurking here, too. I always think about de-lurking but I feel as if I’ve been reading blogs so long that I feel creepy. But maybe this is less creepy. I’m not, I swear! I found your blog somehow through someone else’s blog, I started reading some Mom blogs when I was planning a baby shower for one of my good friends and I followed a link to you that way – as it happens you were due almost around the same time as she was (she ended up having her baby on July 20th). She was busy with finishing up her degree and all so we didn’t talk as much, but it was nice to read how another mom-to-be was feeling at the same time… My friend’s not the blogging type. Now I love reading about you and your life with adorable Avelyn. I thought your Halloween costumes were the greatest.
I guess that means I’ve been lurking a really long time… Sheesh, my bad!

  • Hey Manda,
I read your blog faithly and love keeping up on your life. I wouldn’t say I’m a lurker cause I do comment from time to time – but not nearly enough. I just thought that at this prompt I would say “Hello” and I do hope to see you soon. Logan and I have a wedding in Vancouver this summer, maybe we will take a detour on our road trip.

  • Hi Amanda,

I read you regularly and have commented before. You make me laugh and I so know what you mean in your last post. I work from home and have 2 boys – the dust is thick but we are happy!

  • Hi Amanda (and Harrison says ‘Hi’ to Avelyn)

  • HEEELLLLLOOOOOO YOU!

Not a lurker, but wanted to comment anyway. :)

  • Hi! I have actually commented before a loooong time ago once for sure, maybe twice so technically I have de-lurked. I love reading blogs of other young moms like myself, it’s great to see how they are dealing with some to the same things I do.
    I should comment more… I will comment more. :)

  • I’ve been lurking since before Avelyn was born. I found your blog through some other blog that I cannot remember how I found you. :-) My son Dominic is now 17 months old, and I really enjoy reading about your motherhood adventures.

    So…hello from Atlanta, GA!

  • Hi Amanda,

I’m the third Stacey to delurk on your blog today – how bizarre!

Anyhow, I’ve been reading your blog for a few months, since I found it through another. I just had a baby a couple of months ago, and I’ve enjoyed reading your posts about Avelyn. My Grandpa lived in Summerland, and reading about some of the places you mention in your blog always brings back great memories of my trips there as a kid!

  • I’m not a lurker, just a friendly stalker. :)

    Emily says hi too!

  • hey Amanda, i got your link thru your friend Jordan. Your posts always make me laugh cause i love how open you are about things and aren’t afraid to talk about things that most people wouldn’t talk about. i’m not sure if i’ve ever posted a comment on your blog but i have on your friend jen’s and on angella’s. feel free to post a comment on my blog if you want. makuch.blogspot.com

    have a good day!!

  • I’ll de-lurk…I found you through Angella whom I’ve known since she lived in Vancouver. I love your writing, your “Oh Murphy” post was my absolute fav, I couldn’t stop laughing. I have two month old twins and my husband checks himself everytime there is noise in a diaper.

  • Hi Amanda,

Lurking here since babe was born. I have a four month old little girl myself now and I like reading about your life since I am too lazy to write about mine. :D

  • hey- good thing you asked. i found your blog through an old bible-school roommate of mine (through some of her connections). no worries here though. i’m a nanny, and i have several nieces, so i’m always interested how other mothers and wives live, raise their children, and keep up their households. you see to have very good input. i am soon to be married myself, and i hope to have kids after awhile. it’s just interesting, helpful, and refreshing to get a glimpse of another perspective on life such as yours. thank you!

  • hi amanda, i’ve “seen” you ’round whoorl and other places, and my baby bubs was born two days after avelyn, so it’s fun to check in with you. and now i’m finally saying hello. hello :)

  • I don’t know how I got your original link…I think through Christy…which I found while searching for who knows what…I am intrigued by you and your friends lives, Angella, Christy…I love your blogs and your pics…Avelyn is adorable.

  • Hi :) You’ve been in my favorites for a few months now. Thought I’d introduce myself!

I have a little one too, a bit older than Avelyn. It’s the best thing you could ever experience, isn’t it?

    ~ Devoted lurker

  • well I think you know I read but I never comment. Not sure why. Cause Avelyn sure is adorable. Maybe I’m just to shy.

  • Hi Amanda! I’ve got to come clean as I read your blog all the time!! It brings back a few memories of when I was a young stay at home mom having babies!

  • Just remember who really is your biggest fan. Moi!

  • 21 lurkers! I don’t think I even have that many readers. ;) I’m tempted to ask the lurkers on my blog to de-lurk but I’ll be crushed if 0 Comments goes unchanged.

  • If I delurk Leah may give me a present.

  • Well, I have commented here before, but never really explained my presence. I went to school with Brad Reimer and found your blog, and others, through Steph’s blog when I was checking out wedding pictures. I just love your hilarious sense of humour and how you don’t hold any details back in your stories! Keep ’em comin’! :)

  • Hi Amanda,
I also admit I’ve been checking your blog for quite some time. I went to bible school with Dustin and Christy and they are the whole reason I ever started blogging myself. I’m just under 2 weeks away from my due date for my first child and I want to thank you for your day-to-day blogs of Avelyn and the adventures you are having being a mom. I’m usually laughing when I read your posts. You are very witty! Feel free to “lurk” around my blog anytime. (I’m not sure if you know Del & Sandi Reimer, but I’m related to Sandi! She’s my mom’s cousin!)

  • Wowzers are you popular! I’ve been reading your witty words since, I think Jr. High. Always a hoot.

  • Hey!
    I’ve commented a couple times before, but i’ll officially de-lurk now :)

I really enjoy reading your blog!

  • Not a lurker, but I’m still allowed to say hi, right? :)

  • Hi Amanda,

I’ve been reading (and enjoying) your blog for over a year. I found your blog through Christy’s. I used to work with Dustin back in the day. So here I am de-lurking.

  • Hi Amanda,
De-lurking from New South Wales, Australia. I love your blog and have been reading since Avelyn was born. I found my way here via Leah, I think…
    Anyway, hi =)

  • Amanda… I have enjoyed reading your blog over the last little while. I went to high school with Christy, and so I linked to you through her. I am not a mom unless you count the 23 munchkins I teach at school who sometimes call me “mom,” but it is fun to read of your adventures in motherhood and try out some of your great recipies! Thanks for being you and sharing your stories with the rest of us!

  • De-lurking from NYC! Love your blog!

  • I found you through Whoorl, who I found through a fellow Triplet Mommy, back in the waaay waaay long ago. I’m a Mommy of 19 month old b/b/b triplets & almost 6 month old g/g twins and I read your blog faithfully. I love your wit and you keep me giggling, which is good… Giggles are good, esp when you have 5 bazillion kids, like me.

  • Amanda I read your blog every day as well. Cute baby. Nice life.

  • I just wanted to join the ranks of those that adore you…

  • Hi! I’ve actually commmented before, but wanted to say that I enjoy your writing and adorable pictures.

  • Hi Amanda, I have been lurking for a while now, not only this site but your recipe one as well. My daughter Jillian and Angellas son Graham go to playschool together. I was a lurker on her site and revealed myself a couple of months ago. Avelyn is such a beautiful baby and I love reading your blog. You have some great posts.

  • Hey Amanda, you don’t know me, but I was told by Audrey (the former employer and still very good friend to Kaili) that I MUST read your blog because you are too funny. Well, awhile back I took her advice, and she’s right, you’re hilarious! I love reading about your daily happenings with Avelyn, as well as enjoying the pictures of her and all her chubby parts. :O)

I’m also a SAHM to an almost 4 year old DD and 16 month old DS. I can very much relate to everything you’re going through. So, a big hello from Mississauga, ON!

    Sonia

  • Hi there, I found your blog, er, SOMEHOW, last spring, when I was pregnant and due July 17, so I read along with you since we were pretty much neck-in-neck, pregnancy-wise. And now your little Avelyn and my little D are here, and I love reading your funny and sweet insights about motherhood.

  • Hi Amanda
Im a blog friend of Angellas, and really enjoy reading your profile, your hilarious! Just wanted to say HI!!!
