Little O' This

Calling All Lurkers!

So here in blogland this week is officially deemed National Delurking Week, a time for people who peruse blogs, but never comment, to make themselves known.  Last year I delurked on one of my favourite blogs and it was such a great experience because I got to connect with the author (hi, Leah!) and I think she’s just swell.  She even sent my baby a present

So come on, all you lurkers!  Please say hello.  Good things could happen.

  • Hi Amanda, just delurking to say “hi!” I found you from Kristen of Tallnlucky awesomeness….and let me say I’m so glad I did! (Um, most especially for the cinnamon buns recipe! he!)

  • Hi Amanda! I’m pretty sure I’ve commented before, but I’ll say hi again just to make sure! Love reading you, you crack me up!

  • Hi Amanda,

My name is Lisa, and I actually went to college with Christy’s sister Becky. I check your blog almost everyday because your so down to earth and have such a great sense of humour! I continue to look forward to your posts!!

  • Hi Amanda,

I’ve been reading your blog for a while now – I’m one of Karen’s 30+ cousins (and I also know Angella from way back), so I followed the link from there a very long time ago. I’ve long since made you a favorite because you make me laugh and Avelyn is just so darn cute, but this is my first comment! Shameful, I know. Anyway, love your writing and observations. Thanks for sharing.

  • I am #54, wow! You already know I read your blog. Looks like I am not alone.

  • Hi Amanda,
Yours was my first experience as a blog lurker! It’s fun to read and I always get a kick out of it! Avelyn is a doll! Heidi F

  • Hi.

  • Wow…look at all your comments…I bet you didn’t know that you had so many lurkers, and I am one too. I came across your blog a while back when I was searching for information on midwives in the okanagan and you had made a post on the topic. I love reading your blog, you have an awesome sense of humour and the pics Avelyn are super cute!
    Keep up the great writing.

  • Hi Amanda,
I have to admit Brad and i love reading your blog.. You crack us both up. Your humor is awesome. Keep the stories coming. I think my favorite yet was the tooth brush story! I love seeing pictures of Avelyn, she is adorbale!

  • Sorry I didn’t mean to leave an anonymous comment!
    Luv,
    Samantha:)

  • I’m another new mom who found your blog through a chain of other blogs. I love reading about your experiences with Avelyn–I can relate to pretty much everything (though I have a little boy).

  • Delurking to say hello from London. Like your work.

  • Hi Amanda, I am Andy Wouda’s girlfriend so came accross your blog through him and I enjoy checking it out. Last Spring when I first visited Summerland with him I was hoping to meet you in person after reading your posts (kinda like meeting a celebrity you’ve only seen on T.V.) I did get to meet Steve and Rolo though. Maybe next time I’m there we can say Hi in person but for now I’ll (finally) say it here.

  • Hi! I have no clue how I found your site now but I have to look everyday (that my silly computer is working) to see if you’ve updated. I do remember that I started lurking before your beautiful baby was born. when I found your site, I was so enthralled that I stayed up late before a trial (I’m a paralegal) to read some of your stuff. Don’t worry I won’t be stalking your neighborhood, I’m in Missouri.

  • I’ve delurked before, but hello again!

  • Absolutely fabulous! If you’re ever havin’ a bad day just play a few seconds of that little laugh! Avelyn is just such a little dolly.

  • Oops, wrong post.

  • I’m Abbey Kehler’s sister, and I just love reading your blog. I’ll admit you’re on my usually rounds. The way you express your life moments is so unique and entertaining…never stop, it’s great fun!

  • Hiya Amanda, I actually found your blog through Leah around the time that Avelyn was born [you know when she was going through that “I need a baby” phase ;) and announcing births left and right!? – Hi Leah as well although you don’t me! :(].

You have one gorgeous baby and really house work, pfftt!

  • I guess that technically, I am not a lurker, but I wanted to make the comments an even 70.
    :)

  • Creeeeeeek….can you hear that closet door opening? Well, I guess the lurker closet wasn’t pryed open so much as blown open. People came running out like the farts in there smelled like two-week old egg salad.

I do love your blog and don’t tell you nearly enough. I know we don’t KNOW know eachother but these blog things have a handy way of teaching you a lot about a person.

    Blessings, Shareen

  • I’ve de-lurked before, but I’m back to say that video you just posted is SO cute and SO funny.

    Well done, well done.

  • I am a virgin delurker so bear with me. We went to Capes together, but never really talked because you where in the lodge and I was all the way up in the cabins in the woods. I lurk on a lot of the same sites you do. Some of them I know, and some of them I don’t, but I feel like I do. I have been dangerously flirting with the idea of starting my own. I don’t have kids but I do have gross nursing stories. Whaddoya think – should I go for it?

  • I thought I’d bump you up to 74, I lurk but never seem to have the energy to comment, you’ve seen how lame my blog is

  • Wow, nice work on getting people to de-lurk. I comment all the time but I’m commenting anyways!!

  • Well, my sweet husband and I both pop in on occasion to read of your antics Amanda. You really are a good writer.
Thanks for your honesty and humour!

  • Wow thats alot of comments! Yes I read your blog, linked through Kaili. I may have commented before though, or maybe just thought about it. I also secretly read Jen and Angellas blogs from time to time. Im very jealous of all the summerland mamas, one day I hope to move there and join you and Kaili for walks :)

  • hi my name is angela, i read your blog almost everyday i find it so funny, i love your writing style. I found your blog cause you went to school with my fiance chris, and he would tell me about how your dog and my cat have the same unique name!

  • hi amanda

  • Does “delurking” count if you have commented only a few times?
If so, count me in (again) as a delurker!!
