My dad is an avid long-distance runner and has been sporting the requisite singlet and booty shorts with slits up to his armpits for almost 40 years. He makes me so proud. He is always entering races, and placing in the top three, and never mentioning a word of his successes to anyone. He’s a quiet champion.
I have longed to follow in his footsteps and find some sort of thrill in long-distance running, but my efforts have always been stopped dead in their tracks. Usually by a can of Pringles.
I am hoping that Avelyn has inherited his love for the race and by the looks of these photos, I think she’s got some running genes in her blood.
I love that photo! It looks to me as though she’s crossing the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
And look above! Both of her feet are off the ground as I caught her mid-stride. She runs like this everywhere, too.  Full-tilt all the time. I can barely keep up.
She had her shots yesterday and I had her weighed and measured and she is 3 feet tall and 31 pounds. I have heard that you are supposed to double a girl’s height when she’s two years old to get an estimate of how tall she’ll be as an adult. In that case, my baby is going to be an Amazon!
I think she’ll be able to handle it.

Charlie hopes he’s still in the running for Avelyn’s heart, although he might be a bit of a shrimp at only 33 inches and 25 pounds, but with the way he’s eating and sleeping these days he’s got to be in a growth spurt.

Notice the pure footstrike of the left foot in the top photo. Not a trace of a duckwalk there, to be sure. On a fashion note, those shorts are way too long and will restrict her circulation.

Ohhhhh…she and Chloe can dominate in basketball. CHloe was almost 2.5 feet by her FIRST b-day. SCARY. There is cool tall and then freaky tall. We are hoping for cool tall. Like…whoa…is that a model?
