The refusal to nap continues and by the time four o’clock in the afternoon hits, both Avelyn and I have had about enough of the day.
She is a growly bear by the mid-afternoon but by then it’s too late to put her down for a rest, since that would bump her bedtime back and that’s a sacrifice I’m just not willing to make.
Only three more hours till bed. Help me.

She’s so dang adorable though.
Looks like my son! My H doesn’t get it.
I tell him that our boy NEEDS to sleep in the afternoons early in the weekend. It doesn’t happen. He melts down…….
Repeat!
She looks so exhausted! I can’t imagine how tired both of you must be.
Her hair looks SO blonde in these pictures!
That is the look I usually have on my face by about 4:00. She’s not the only one needing her naps these days…
Looks like my household, too.
Transition from nap to no nap is hard! My daughter did that too around 2 years old. And if I DID get her to nap then I couldn’t get her to go to bed. But the first week of not napping was a grump-fest, especially by 4 or 5! Good luck.
I love that second pic. “Get that camera out of my face!!”
I don’t like to spout the assvice, but recently our 2.5 year old son seemed like he was dropping his nap. We’ve found that if we get him up a bit earlier in the morning, and put him to bed slightly later at night (we’re talking like 8:30pm to 6:30 or 7am here), he’s still napping. For me, the idea of him NOT napping right now is a little too much to bear!!
I have a very similar post, except mine happend AT bedtime. Little miss grumpy pants hates being put to bed. Isn’t it ironic? What they need most they resist, well at least what I need them to do the most they resist.

oops sorry I posted 2 times cause I was trying to fix a spelling mistake.
These photos are priceless. However, I have a sneaky feeling you may be willing to sell them to the highest bidder :) Here’s hoping that she starts to LOVE bedtime. I’ll be over here holding my breath. :)
Awwww! That makes for a long day for both of you! Everytime I see a picture of Avelyn, she’s looking more and more grown up! And look at those curls!
Sorry about the no napping but holy crow is your daughter beautiful! Look out Summerland boys!
Thats exactly how I looked today. :/
I dont mean to be the barer of bad news, but just wait til you have TWO! haha.
She might be grouchy, but she is darn cute.
Also, you work the camera well!
In my house, when he didn’t want his nap anymore he had to atleast have an hour (sometimes and hour and a half) of “quiet time”, which translated meant watching a movie alone in my bed with the shades drawn. It kept us both sane!
