Little O' This

Hear Us Roar

This weekend while doing some shopping in West Van with my sister-in-law, Kaile, we got to talking about pregnancy and childbirth and womanhood and I shared with her that the journey of bringing a life into the world has given me a newfound sense of respect for all the women on this globe.
There is a quiet strength behind the eyes of every mother.
We have felt the weight of life inside of us, pressed through the pain of bringing a child into the open air, lived as sleep-deprived zombies for weeks on end so as to nourish our needy babes, prayed fervently over the heads of our sleeping children that they would remain safe and healthy and grow to be all they can be, and devoted our lives to placing the needs of another above our own.
We are strong.
And it makes me proud.

  • It’s true and definitely something to be proud of! Such an empowering yet humbling experience.

  • I think I have yet to get to the empowered part, but I am definitely humbled by all the blessings I’ve been given with this amazing responsibility!

  • Very touching Amanda. Make sure (and I need this lesson more than ever now) that you put yourself on the list of priorities as you are no good to anyone unless you are good to yourself.

  • Nice! It’s so true!
