Just for kicks I pulled out the boob yesterday and offered it to Avelyn. She put her lamprey mouth around my (still shockingly large) nip and took a single quasi-suck, then pulled away and smiled. I laughed and she looked up at me as I said, "They can’t say we didn’t try, hey?"
You know what’s a shame? We are hosting our 4th Annual Hallowe’en Party (don’t those capital letters make it sound posh and important?) this year and I am totally stumped for costume ideas for me and Steve. We have Avelyn’s outfit all ready but I am clueless for myself. I have always wanted to dress up like Lloyd and Harry from Dumb and Dumber in those wacky tuxedos. See, I kind of look like Harry with the wild blonde hair and the funny looking face, and Steve could totally pull of being Lloyd with the bowl cut and we could put a raisin over his tooth to make it look chipped. The trouble is, I don’t think I have the time, energy or resources to track down a sky blue and an orange sherbet tuxedo.
I told Steve, "Why don’t we still dress up like Lloyd and Harry but just when they’re wearing sweat pants?"
"When in the movie do they just wear sweat pants?" he asked.
"I don’t know. But wouldn’t that be an easy costume? All you’d need is a pair of sweat pants and a raisin to make a chip in your tooth and all I’d need is a good hair-teasing and, of course, some sweat pants," I countered.
"No one would know WHO THE HECK we were supposed to be."

But if you are reading this, please talk to Kaili and tell her that Kathie want’s to talk to you. You have gone so above and beyond what most women would do to nourish and cherish the bond of love and milk ….. and I may have something to offer you and your precious daughter.

Jen, I was going to be a baked potato (see, Avelyn is a lobster, Steve was going to be a steak, and I a baked potato…the full meal deal) but I can’t find a beige garbage bag anywhere and I can’t sew for the life of me…plus I think being a baked potato might actually be rather pathetic. :) Not that

I might have a good idea for the baked potato. It came to me in the night, when I should have been getting my beauty sleep….but that’s when all my rocket science comes to me!! Call me.

Get some aprons and chefs’ hats and carry Avelyn around in a pot. Seriously.
Are you kidding me? Dumb and Dumber is a great idea. It would totally work. If not this year, keep it in mind for next year.
On the easy side you could go as bags of garbage. Smear some pudding on your face, cut leg holes in some garbage bags and throw in some throw pillows. Not inventive, but easy. Of if you have all silver clothes you could go as lobster forks and just make some head pieces out of cardboard and tinfoil. Or…hmmmm, maybe my creativity could be put to better uses. I’m sure you’ll have a blast whatever you dress up as!
I have to say that I think Leah’s idea of the chef’s is pretty hilarious. If I were you, I’d seriously consider that one!
Is it sad that Dumb and Dumber is my favorite movie? Hahaa! I think that would rock if you went as Llyod and Harry. Sha and I know every line from that movie and it’s rather annoying to watch with us, as we MUST say the whole thing. hahaha! See you tomorrow. :)
