Little O' This, My Girl

Housekeeping

I took a look at my “About Me” page and realized that it was painfully outdated.  So I composed a new one.  It’s nothing to write home about but at least it’s a tad more accurate. Check it out (on the sidebar to the right), if you were wondering how best to waste your next 23 seconds.

My parents and brother arrive from the prairies this weekend and I am so excited!  It’s been nearing 50 below in their city, so our minus 15 will feel like a balmy Hawaiian getaway.  I have been busy getting the house ready for company but it’s so hard to stay on top of all that needs doing when there’s a destructive toddler getting into trouble while I’m trying to clean.  Oh, and also I am a lazy sloth.

I straightened Avelyn’s hair today, to kill a little time on another Snow Day.  She looks 16!

I am getting my hair cut and coloured on Monday and am seriously contemplating The Bangs.  Not blunt bangs, but something Whoorl-esque.  Any thoughts?

  • I would say yes to the bangs if they are side swept and not blunt. What colour are you doing your hair?

  • I say give the bangs a try! If they are horrid, you can grow them out.

    Avelyn does looks 16!

  • Wow – Avelyn looks so mature!

I have no hair advice. In fact, I’m the last person to give hair advice. Someday I should ask Whoorl what to do with my mop.

  • That’s what boobie pins are for!
    Avelyn looks all grown up!

  • WOW, I mean BOBBIE pins!

  • I currently have those and just as I grew them out to an *almost* perfect point, I decided to cut them again. BOOOOO. Bad choice. Anyways, they look awesome, but only when you take the time to do them. (like, wash them, flat iron, all that) I don’t know about you but mine have a tendency to flip in funny ways if they’re slept on, or not done. So, if you plan to do them everyday, great. Go for it. It really gives that polished, “I actually did my hair today” look. However be prepared for the days when you are feeling lazy and don’t want to do your hair, you will probably look like it! And if you are ok with that? Then I say DO IT! Otherwise, run in the opposite direction as fast as you can. :D

  • Go for the bangs! You can always grow them out if you hate them. I got bangs about a year ago and have loved, loved, loved them! Enjoyed your new about page! :)

  • Your daughter looks like a tiny little Lexy Grey from Greys Anatomy…gorgeous!

  • Her hair looks great! And YES it is COLD here! They’re lucky to be leaving for mild -15 degree temperatures.

I’d say go for the bangs. You may regret it, but you can always pin them back until they grow out.

  • awww…i love avelyn’s curls! bring them back! looking forward to seeing your new hairstyle on monday :)

  • Avelyn does look old!!! I have to say, I love her curls though!!! You would look great with bangs…Try it!!! Have a great weekend!

  • I vote yea for the whoorl-esque bangs. Your random facts on the about page cracked me up.

  • Rarely will you hear me say no to bangs. DO IT.

  • I am a Lash Exact convert, thanks to Whoorl. Trust her.

  • yes to bangs! I think they’d look great on you!

Just beware… when I changed the direction of my “bangs” my hair started to thin because of the strain on the roots…

Avelyn indeed looks 16. she’ll soon be asking you for a $150 salon quality straightener of her own.

  • Bangs? Do it. You know you want to…

  • Wow! She does look much older. I’m enjoying bangs, these days, though when they are the wrong length they are bitterly annoying!

  • Yes for bangs! But, I’d make sure your stylist does free bang trims – mine does and it’s really the only way I can keep them in shape.
