The meeting went well. The editor seemed genuinely interested in my ideas and promised to get back to me after giving my proposal some thought. Basically, it’s an issue of space in the paper…do they have room for my column? Regardless of whether I end up writing for them or not, I am happy I made the effort and that I didn’t chicken out.
Now you can all sleep tonight without the suspense of my life killing you.

He probably didn’t want to seem overly excited by the prospect of a fledgling writer, but has gone home, secretly knowing he’s found the next Barbara Amiel! It’s just a matter of time before you’re discovered!
good for you! The hardest bit is taking the chance.
I can see him agonizing over it now…will I print Amanda or the ever-popular “Prune Juice Recipe of the Week” feature?
Congratulations on trying! It’s an awesome idea, and I hope it works out or at the very least boosts your confidence to try again!
Glad the meeting went well. I hope you hear from the editor soon. Good luck!
Awesome…you are braver than I! I hope it works out for you :)
I agree with Sue. I’ve done my time with editors, they have a lot to juggle. I’m looking forward to the verdict! :)
You would be great at it, I would read it.
Pitching is SO hard, isn’t it? There’s a point where you just want to say “see, I can write!” but they want you to do the song-and-dance in person.
Just remember, if they don’t take it, you can always go to a competing paper. ;)
The best advice I can give you, watch the movie “The Secret” and manifest this idea (and any other thing you want to happen). It’s all in the law of attraction!!!
You are an awesome writer! I hope it works out for ya.
