Family Matters, My Girl

Worth a Thousand

This Sunday Avelyn was dedicated at our church. She wore a sweet little dress my mom had sent for her, I scrunched her crazy curls into a few kewpie doll tendrils, and we were ready for a nice family moment. That is, until the Teeth From Heck started pushing their way through her gums about five minutes before we had to go on the stage. She was yelling, squriming, blowing slobbery raspberries and being a supreme distraction for the entire dedication.

This picture sums it up better than my words can:

Teething bites.

Yesterday my girl was a raging ball of baby rage. She balled her hands up into fists and pummelled her gums, she hucked biscuits across the room in a fit of fury, she refused to nap and the only way I could keep her calm was with steady doses of Camilia.

Oh, House is back on (I was blogging during the commercial break but the grumpy doctor is summoning me). Bye!

  • Poor baby girl! :(
Can you imagine what she would say if she could talk!!!

    She is cute regardless though!

  • That’s a funny pic! Teething sucks really bad…can’t wait till its over!

  • The funniest part of that picture to me is you! What a great mom face!

  • I LOVE the look on your face! Your eyes say it all!

  • That IS a picture worth a thousand words!!

  • THAT is a classic photo. One to show at her wedding for sure :)

  • Priceless!

  • Gee Amanda, what were you REALLY thinking in that picture? That is fantastic. We are dedicating Chloe on Mothers Day and I realize with her new nap schedule she will want to be sleeping at that time so this could turn into quite a scene that morning so I am already dreading it. Not quite the picturesque moment you hope for. So glad someone took pictures for you…this is one you are going to rub back in her face on day. At least she looked cute!

  • Hello – what about poor Steve? No comments about him? His 2 favorite gals having a bad time, and he’s trying to make things right!

Indeed this picture is worth a thousand words. It will bring you great memories once the teething process is over, and for many years to come.

  • Ball of baby rage perhaps, but also – ball of adorable authentic cuteness for sure!

  • Hi Amanda, I am enjoying your blog. You should come and add your blog to our group of bloggers at Fuel. Keep up the good work. You have a beautiful little family.

  • Your face? Is PRICELESS
