Despite the overcast skies, today has been bright, in my heart, that is. Nothing ground-breaking to report, just a few happy little things to note:

1. A few weeks ago I was browsing at a funky boutique uptown and fell in love with a strapless linen dress by NineWest (it’s a seconds store that gets last season’s Macy’s castaways so everything is cheap…normally NineWest wouldn’t even be on my radar). But they only had the dress in a size 10 and it was just a little too droopy in my chest area and kind of saggy on my hips. So, I left it and forgot about it. Until today, that is! I was back in the same shop, trying to find a birthday present for someone, when I saw that they had the same dress…in a size four. I hung my head and sighed. The saleslady said, “Try it on. I’ll bet it will fit.” I guffawed. Heartily. The last time I had worn a size four was back in grade 10 when I didn’t really eat for a year. (PS: Don’t try that.) I decided to give it a go, if only to prove the lady wrong. But, I am sure you know where I’m going with this….it FIT! And not in a “if I wear three pairs of spanx and hold my breath” sort of way. I am sure NineWest must be guilty of vanity sizing, making bigger sizes read smaller so people will be blinded by their delight at squeezing into a size zero and forget that the dress costs a fortune. But I have been losing weight lately, so maybe I need to take a little credit for wrangling this bod into a four.

Needless to say, I bought the dress. I’ll post a picture of myself in it sometime soon. Right now I’m wearing my chocolate brown yoga pants and have every intention of staying in them all afternoon.

2. Leah has nominated me for the “Hottest Mommy Blogger” award. She really is too kind. I can think of a lot of other mommy bloggers who are waay hotter than I am. 3. Avelyn is napping soundly. This is always cause for celebration.
