Friends Are Swell

Love Me

You know that saying, “Love me, love my dog,” right? Well, it’s true.

And it’s even truer still when you change the word ‘dog’ to ‘kids’.

Love me, love my kids.

When someone I know delights in my kids, takes the time to get to know them, to marvel at their personalities and remark on how they’re growing, it makes my heart burst right open.

This past week my friend of 20 years (we’re old, 100%) came back to Canada from a two-year experience in Switzerland and she just scooped our kids up in her arms, got on the floor and played with them, piggy-backed them around the house, and played hide-and-seek till the sun went down.

Thanks for loving me, for loving my kids.

  • I love it, too. :)

  • I was just telling this same thing to a friend today. There is nothing that delights me more than seeing someone I love, love my son. Best thing ever.
