My Girl

Did You Know Diarrhea Is a Verb?

As in, Avelyn diarrhead all over my skirt while we were in the waiting room at the doctor’s office today. After that soggy blow-out we met with the kind doc who told us the cause of her misery: double ear infection. Today has been miserable, fraught with fever, fitful naps, and diarrhea. Yesterday’s barfing is unrelated, and just poor timing.

Here we go again.

  • Poor thing. At least you know the cause of todays misery. Hope she feels better soon.

  • Oh my, suddenly cleaning up poo chunks off the carpet and wiping smears off the wall doesn’t seem so bad. What would we say if there wasn’t any poo?? Hope she gets better soon!

  • I’m so sorry. Poor Avelyn! Poor you!

Sending you a huge virtual hug. :)

  • Thanks for the update on the word diarrhea. I can’t wait to use diarrhead in a sentence.

So sorry Avelyn is sick. I hope she feels better soon.

My baby had an ear infection a few months ago, at the exact same time my 4 year old had pneumonia. (Oh, and I was sick myself as well.) Good times.

  • Aw… hope she’s feeling better soon.

  • You poor thing. And poor Avelyn.

  • Poor baby. I hope that she feels better soon!

  • when my brother was a wee lad, he ate an entire bar of baker’s chocolate thinking it was “normal” chocolate. My mom took my sister to the doctor (my bro, of course, tagging along) not long after and my brother’s bowels pretty much EXPLODED all over the waiting room.

I still laugh when I hear that story.

Poor Avelyn, tho. Ear infections are not fun and way too common for wee ones.

  • Oh good heavens. I’ll just read your blog, knowing that my turn for all this isn’t far away. =)

  • Poor Avelyn! Hope tomorrow’s a better day!

  • Tag, you’re it!

  • Wow..rough for both of you. I really hope Avelyn gets better soon, poor kid, that just double sucks. Hope you get the said poo out of your clothing.

  • I’m thinking of using your blog for my sex ed class to show the children what parenting is really like. I know I’m scared!

  • Ahh – brings back memories of the first time I ever spoke to you on the phone. I asked you how you were and you told me ” I have diarrhea”….. I was really immpressed as you were barely a year old. I was not impressed because you had diarrhea – I was impressed that you could speak so well.

Alas, now here you are with your own dear little Avelyn suffering with it to. Precious little tyke.

    Love.

  • Hi Amanda! I’m just getting back into your blog after months of self-centered absence. I love you and your hilarity — and I hope that the diarrhea soon passes. Coming for a visit anytime soon?

  • I hope Avelyn is feeling better! And I hope your skirt survived…
