I am still up to my neck in Avelyn’s watery turd but let’s take a break from talking about it, OK? I am ready for a change here, a reprieve from baby talk and toddler tales. So, let’s talk about something else.
Like my new banner? Secret Agent Josephine created it and she is just so talented and creative, don’t you agree?
Also, Steve is sick. He must have caught the same bug Avelyn’s been fighting because he started this morning with a cheek-clenched sprint to the bathroom and proceeded to wake Avelyn up with his dry heaving. I felt bad for him, but worse for me that I had to get up earlier than I’d hoped and deal with a grumpy baby. I’m caring like that.
We don’t have cable (because my husband is cruel) and for the past few years I’ve had to live with a mere two channels. I have still managed to waste far too many hours on lame shows because I am desperate for a good zone-out every now and again. But recently we found another channel we are able to access! It’s CBC and amidst the documentaries on sea otters and national news there is Arrested Development (one of my favourite shows of all time)! Life, it’s not so bad after all. If I did have cable this is what I would watch:
1. Lost
2. America’s Next Top Model (shut up).
3. The Bachelor (again, shut up).
4. Grey’s Anatomy
5. 30 Rock
I do get The Office, Prison Break and House on our measly channel selections. That is how I survive. Thankfully Christy has satellite and I invite myself over to her house everyday to stay current with the mindless drivel we both so thoroughly enjoy.
Hope you’ve all had lovely Choosedays!

I just found your site, don’t quite know how, probably through Amalah, or quite possibly through my obsessive, addictive compulsion with blogging and reading blogs!! I am completely hooked after reading just a few of your entries! I hope the husband and the baby feel better soon, but I must admit, I am with you 150% on the whole being cranky because you had to get up earlier than you planned – I hate that!!
Oh, it’s just me again . . . Just had to tell you, I am definitely a Bachelor fan too!! You have a friend in me . . .
Dude. First of all, I watch 4 of those 5 shows (with the exception of the Bachelor). Second, do NOT be embarrassed about liking ANTM. I am hopelessly obsessed, and I’ve finally just embraced it. (I would discuss my frustration with this season’s winner, but I’ll refrain, in the event you haven’t yet seen it.)
I love your new banner. It is pink, what’s not to like! Guys just don’t do sick well do they?
You forgot ELLEN!!
GOSH!
Sweet banner…SAJ is da bomb!
I got rid of my cable service in March… but my saving grace is that http://www.abc.com has Lost, Grey’s, etc available for your online viewing pleasure FOR FREE!!! It’s better than cable. Watch them when you want. Pause as needed. Less commercials (a one hour show will only take 45 minutes to watch online). They keep multiple episodes available. I wish all the networks would get in on this.
Did you know you can watch a lot of ABC shows online at abc.com. I watched the whole season of the Bachelor at work.
abc.com only works if you live in the US! I’ve tried, unsuccessfully, many times to watch there. Anyone know how to fake an IP address? :)
Love the new banner!
Hi! I’m a new reader and blogger. I love your blog. We actually went to Capernwray together. Well…for half a year.
Sorry to here that Steve is sick now. And that is a bummer he is withholding cable t.v. form you. I would protest. LOL! You are missing so much on LOST.
Do you think they have rotovirus? My kids both got it a few months ago and I thought it would never end.
actually, from the angle, the boots in the new banner look like they’re attached to a pair of open legs.
Ditto Metalia!
I love the new banner! I totally dig SAJ’s style.
I hope you don’t get sick too :(
CBC has Arrested Development? So very civilized. We’re getting cable on Friday, which we do every four years or so (usually timed with the Olympics), but this years it’s for summer tennis tournaments. Then, come Fall, we’ll cancel and be happy that we don’t have access to all the commercials and other things that we don’t want our children to see.
Big thumbs up on the first two choices. “Lost” is so awesome. I’m not sure I’ll make it seven months without a new episode…
[Nice design!]
I totally loooove 30 Rock:) Who cares if Alec Baldwin is mean to his kids, he plays a great jerk on TV and that has to count for something, right?
