Eat, Walk, Live

Week Six of Self-Isolation is now under our belts! Wahoo!

If you happen to need a serving of hope, a dose of vitality and a spoonful of spring…then I implore you to make this Glory Bowl by Whitewater Cooks

The Whitewater Cooks cookbook is my desert island cookbook…the one I would keep if I had to throw all my others away. Their recipes inspire me and are so dang delicious and foolproof. The rest of their series is also great, but the first cookbook has so many of my favourites. What is your favourite cookbook of all time? Do you even still use cookbooks or just get recipes online?

I found this recipe on the internet through an old blogging friend I still follow on Facebook and let me tell you: if your week has sucked and you need a pick-me-up, then these cinnamon buns are just what the doctor ordered.

The recipe is a tad involved, hence my smug expression. IT’S JUSTIFIED.

For years I have made the Pioneer Woman’s cinnamon buns for Christmas morning but I do believe they have been bumped off the holiday menu and these shall take their place.

I got some new runners and they are ugly as sin. But I am old and I overpronate and have a bad IT-band. I need support and I have been logging over 50-60 km of stress-walking during the pandemic so these were my splurge.

I feel like Alexis Rose every time I lace them up.

Aside from eating and walking and trying not to die, there’s not a whole lot else going on, save for my crying hot tears of despair over technology and homeschooling follies as we try to help our kids stay on top of the workload.

In personal entertainment path news, the series about Hillary Clinton on Netflix was very well done and fascinating. Tiger King was a tough act to follow, but this fit the bill. Now we are on to Waco and it’s also really interesting. (I clearly have a varied palate when it comes to media. It’s called being ARTSY.)

I earned a few of these this week, how about you?

Happy (almost) weekend, all!

(Even though time has lost all meaning, we can still pretend that weekends are special.)

  • Are those the cinnamon buns that Yvonne made? I’ll have to try them! Or, Emily will. She’s been baking us treats almost every day.

Now that all sportsball is canceled, even though I’m still working, I have more time to cook. I’ve been relying on Google searches for new recipes but those cookbooks look amazing.

Hang in there, Momma. I’m always a phone call away if you need to talk to someone older than 13. :)
