Would you believe that this is the only picture that I have taken of our dear, sweet girl? My hands been filled with her tiny body all hours of the day and that affords little time for photography at this point. Perhaps once she is not attached to my (hard as rocks!) boobs all day long I’ll have some free appendages to click a camera with, but until then I am more than a little preoccupied.
Things are great. Really. I am a mom and it’s amazing. Our girl is the most dainty, most precious, most fantastic person I have ever met and we are smitten. There is so much to say about how it feels to hold her in my arms, hear her vigourously swallow back my milk, watch her sleep, hear her coo. It’s just too much. We are so blessed and I feel the tears welling up this instant as I think of my love for her.
Thank you to everyone for all of the great comments and congratulatory exclamations. I have missed you and I hereby pledge to not be one of those bloggers who drops off the face of the earth once she has a baby. I need you now more than ever: the community, the connection, the comradery. It might take a while before I can post every day, what with feedings and changings and perchance even a nap or two for myself, but I’ll keep trying.

My what an early post. Glad the nursing is going well. One good thing is rock hard boobs don’t last very long. Hope you are able to catch a nap here and there.

I have been reading your blog so closely, waiting gor these posts that I feel like I have been there. The only down side is not being able to hold your little bundle. I was also wondering about pronounciation- long A at the beginning -va with a short a – lin short i? It looks beautiful!
