Family Matters, My Girl

July Foist

Happy Canada Day! We started the day off with raspberries for breakfast (since they’re red, just like the Canadian flag). It was a full-body affair:

Then we got all ready to go the First Annual Canada Day BBQ at Angella’s house. We were told to bring our bathing suits so Avelyn wanted to make sure her new Princess Belle suit fit and accentuated her curves:

Then we had a great ol’ time with good friends and about 673 of our children running amok (seriously, the breeding MUST STOP). Ange had hung a flag up on the deck and I asked a friend of ours to snap a cheesy family photo of us with a symbol of our patriotic pride behind us. Everyone was making fun of us, gathering round and saying, “You guys are sooo laaaame! What, are you going to put this cooool picture on your blaaaahhhggg?!”

Yes. Yes, I am.

You’re just jealous.

After much eating, mingling and child-minding we called it a day and went to bed.

Happy long weekend to you all!

  • Well, I for one love the Canada Day picture! It looks like you’re having fun! And the little sleeping babe? So cute! Avelyn obviously had a busy day playing with all her friends!

  • I totally would have posed in front of a flag, if not to capture me and my family together. We’re terrible at getting family shots of ourselves.

Avelyn looks so peaceful in her carseat :) Her big numero uno is coming up soon!

  • Sweet bathing suit!

  • The bathing suit is killer-shows off her curves nicely : )

The cheesy family photo is very cute. You are not nearly as cheesy as I am about to be, I’ve got coordinated outfits for the three of us to wear for the 4th of July. Although it is really just because we are participating in a little parade in my hometown–and because I am a big geek!

    Happy Canada day!

  • I wish WE had done a family photo! You guys are so smart! SO glad you came, and we’ll see you this week sometime :)

  • We have so very few family shots, since the baby was born. I think in her 9 months we have maybe 3 or 4 pics of all 5 of us. So! I love the family shot. And the flag is a perfect backdrop- you’ll always remember the occasion you took the photo. Cheesy? Maybe, but still very appropriate!

  • I want to print that Canadian pride picture and tape it to my non-magnetic fridge!

  • That’s a terrific picture and, yes, I am jealous. ;)

  • A Canadian, cowboy, luau…sign me up! You Mapleheads sure know how to have a good time
