My dear pal Christy is out of town on a weekend with her hubby that’s to be filled with love, romance, and both in a child-free state of mind. She loaned her kids out to a few of us willing souls and our household ended up with Olivia, her eight month-old cherub, and Max, her rambunctious golden labrador puppy. Hands full? Check. It took me about three minutes of caring for two infants for me to realize, “Oh my sweet mustard (yes, that’s my new catch phrase. I made it up all by myself, can you tell?), this is a lot of work!” Olivia is a happy and content little girl but it’s hard to keep an eye on her while my own li’l devil is making a mad dash for the toilet bowl or eating dog food. It’s been a nice kind of mayhem and I’m happy to be able to help out a friend. She’s got three kids so I think she needed this weekend away more than I can fully comprehend.
Christy and I have been plotting for our girls to be best friends for life and I think our scheming just might have worked. Total BFFs:

Look at Avelyn go! I think the first time I visited your site, she was maybe six weeks old and had just rolled over…? Maybe?
Anyway, I can’t believe how fast these children grow.
