What About Blog?

My Cheerleaders.

You know what?  I love you, readers.

(All of you except the lame guy who keeps leaving comments about my big nose.  I can smell you from here, Mr. Mean, and you STINK.)

My brother was talking the other day about how this blog has become a support group for me and if I’m ever having a down day or feeling chubby and ugly or wondering if I’m a bad mom or feeling unhappy with my life you guys rally with cheers of, “You’re so beautiful!  And skinny!  And a fantastic mom!  And we love you!”

I just wanted to say thanks for the collective back-patting that you so consistently dish out.

I am back on track, Weight Watchers-wise.  It helps having my very health-conscious brother in the house.  As I’m reaching for my second helping of pasta he’ll grill me with a “How many Points is in that?!” question and I’ll sheepishly slink away from the table.  It’s like having a live-in personal trainer and I seem to be responding well to some external discipline.

Last night we watched Blades of Glory and tonight (after we weed my “garden”) we’re going to screen Nacho Libre.  We are beyond classy.

Avelyn is presently writhing in her high chair, spewing regurgitated hunks of cucumber from her angry lips.  So.  I guess I should go be a mom or something.

  • Love it. Glad that you get the pick-me-up you need from the blogosphere. Nacho Libre… love it!

  • Who is insulting you? BASTARD. I’ll kick him hard for you. You are lovely! And skinny! And beautiful!

(I’m sucking up because I think all those things, but also if I’m ever in the area, I’d love one of those scrumptious-looking apples.)

I’m going to a wedding this weekend. I sure hope I stay on track with my points.

Sounds like you’re doing great, hard as it may be.

  • Hi Amanda,
I read you all the time but don’t often comment (bad me!). I just want to say that I too, LOVE your blog – your photos, your writing, your sense of humour (you constantly crack me up). Also, I think you are gorgeous, and I’m right with Jennie in kicking that loser who obviously feels the need to dish out on lovely people like you to make himself feel less pathetic.
I salute you for being so determined with Weight Watchers – cutting down/out on foods I love would be one of the hardest things to do for me – so I think the fact that you’re so determined to stick with it is awesome. I’m sure the end result will be worth it!

Also, I really need to see Blades of Glory! I’m hoping it won’t be too long before its out on DVD here (Australia).

    Cheers!

  • Horray for being back on track. I know what it’s like to have a sibling that’s health conscious, you can just feel their stare when you hit the drive through at DQ and you get something large with extra toppings!!!Sounds like you and your brother have a lot of fun though!

  • I am so glad that we are all here to help bring you up when you are having a downer kind of day. It is amazing what the kindness of people you have never met can do for your self esteem!

Glad you are back on track with the ww. Can I borrow your brother for a few days? I haven’t said no to a second helping in weeks…

  • You are definately loved AManda…. how could we not adore such an amazing person such as yourself. I love the pics of you and bro too. You two seem like a pair. Glad you had a good visit and that you are back on the bandwagon. Don’t laugh, but I am attempting to go for a jog tomorrow…. scary thought. I know.

  • I can’t believe anyone would insult your nose! It’s the perfect nose for your face & complements you wonderfully :)

  • HOW could anyone insult you? Seriously. I want to BE you, nose and all (and there ain’t nothin wrong with your nose)! You really do rock and you look great!

How was Blades of Glory? I need to rent it. Nacho Libre…I’m not sure how much I would like that though…did you ever watch Kicking and Screaming? Another silly but hilarious movie!!

  • Ewwww I do NOT like that mean guy. Your nose is pretty.

And thank you for being so open about your WW journey. It’s been really inspirational to me.

  • So, I completely loathed Nacho Libre (longest four hours of my life, since I somehow ended up having to see it twice). And yet, I quote it all the time. How this works out, I’ll never know.

  • I don’t comment often, so think of me as a silent cheerleader. You are beautiful and so is your nose.

  • Oooh, are you gonna watch Napolean Dynamite, too?!?! gosh!
you guys are classy…it is better than my sibs…the last time I visited, my brother made me watch Envy about 6 times…and we cannot CANNOT pass up Bubble Boy…

  • I just recently started reading your blog and I must say, you seem like the kind of person we all just can’t help but rally for! Me likes.

  • T’was so grand seeing you and Avelyn and steve and l’il bro steve. Man, it’s been 5 years since i’ve seen your l’il bro but he still looks the same….just older.
And thanks for the high quality entertainment of the bottle depot and men in one pieces who figure skate. I will never be the same again because of those experiences. Love you guys!!!! :D

  • bricker-bracker, fire-cracker, shish boom bah!

  • I don’t keep mentioning your nose. I only mentioned it once.

You’re a very pretty girl, no doubt. I’m just saying that you’d be ravingly hot after a bit of rhinoplasty.

And you’re right. I do stink. Because I’m an asshole.

  • what are friends for? Women are too hard on ourselves, which is why we need others to point us back to reality…

  • We love you too and your nose is perfect.

  • my husband is the same way about my food intake – always around to help me in my ever-present “diet”

  • Who the heck is this “milf hunter” guy? seriously creepy. creeeeeeepy!~

  • ps…wanna trade noses?

  • Blades of Glory is amazing. Just thought I’d put that out there. I need to see it again.

  • We should start a club for girls with beautifully long loses. The BLN’s. I’m already in it.

  • I just rejoined weight watchers last Sunday (after having put back 35 of the 70 pounds I had lost back on. GRRRRRR) So far, so good, but man, counting points is ANNOYING.

I don’t know what my point was really, except that I wanted to tell someone that I think counting points is annoying.

(But not as annoying as this comment, I’m sure.)
