Yesterday I took Avelyn in for her very first doctor’s appointment. I had fed her just prior to our departure and expected her to be calm and docile and show the doc what a sweet little girl she was.
Everyone left such sweet comments about how foxy I looked after Avelyn’s birth but here’s a tiny glimpse into the darkness of what a 40-hour labour can do to a woman.
Would you believe that this is the only picture that I have taken of our dear, sweet girl? My hands been filled with her tiny body all hours of the day and that affords little time for photography at this point.

Little miss Avelyn Paige Brown arrived yesterday morning at 10:31, weighing in at 6 pounds, 12 ounces.
Last night Steve and I curled up in bed to watch a movie on the laptop. A few minutes into the flick I needed to use the washroom where I realized that there was some bloody show.
